Stripped version of Raspberry Pi

Razvan, such a thing does not exist if you want one you need to start with a stock model A then remove the connectors you do not want.

If you cant do this then I'm sure there are plenty who will remove the connectors for you but his takes time and effort and probably cost you more than the RPI.

Where are you any way? ...you'll need some one in your area to do this!

Thanks guys but actually I don't need someone to remove them for me, I asked because without all these compoenents the board should be cheaper. I need to buy a few so finding it already stripped to the actual processing core would be nice. I am in Europe, Germany.

yes but since these are all inserted by machines no one is going to stop the line and fish a few model A's off the line Sans some connectors.

So the only way to get what you want is start with a normal model A then remove what you don't want.

It's basically a Model A with no external connectors in an SODIMM form factor, and is intended for integration into products instead of being a stand-alone "GNU/Linux Box" as the RasPi site used to say

However, at US$30 (quantity 100, according to http://linuxgizmos.com/raspberry-pi-morphs-into-30-dollar-com/), you're probably better off with a US$25 Model A

I'm a little bothered by the new form factor. To make something the size and shape of an industry standard part, but not implement the interface seems like a bad idea. I have not read enough about it though to know if there will be anything useful coming out of the connector, such as high speed I/O so that if you ganged a few(or a bunch) of them together you could build a really powerful cluster for a fairly low price.

So basically they seem to have moved from been an educational  charity to been a provider of industrial computers. I  was hoping they would correct the problems in the original PI before diversifying !

The only problem here John is that they don't exist yet and when they do you'll need to buy the baseboard making it bigger than the original PI.

Only if you are doing a volume would you find it practical to do your own mother board with Power etc. I hope they do some more interesting peripherals with this design  it may make it useful for certain projects.
