Wolfson Audio Card+ ?

That is the key question.  Drivers!  I'm just a few months away from waiting a year for them to get around to including the drivers in the official Raspian as has been promised for nearly a year.  I really don't want to have to mess with compiling my own drivers, especially every time there's a new kernel.  And I don't want to have to use an old, non upgradable, custom build Raspian snapshot.

Hoping Cirrus Logic (the new owners of Wolfson) see the value and quality workmanship that originally went into this card and complete the process with full integration into the upstream Raspian.

It was April 2014.  So....one would have hoped by now they would have taken notice of this product and picked up where Wolfson dropped the ball but being Dec already, I'm losing faith.

Besides the software drivers, I see also another problem with this new card. It takes over the 40 pin GPIO header, and presents only 6 of them on its "expansion header". It seems that no SPI, I2C is available and instead of 26 - 28 pins I get only 6 pins for GPIO. But got instead a lot of audio outputs. Isn't it cool?

Can anyone from Cirrus comment on wether the wolfson image will be compiled for the RPI?
