Raspberry Pi B inside a xBox 360 Shell. Power button/lights question?

Former Member

Hi

I currently have a raspberry pi B board with a self powered USB hub attached, running two USB hard drives plugged into it. i have it all sitting inside a xbox 360 shell and i was wondering if it is possible to wire up the 4 leds and power button(on the xbox RF module) to the gpio headers on my Pi, so I can push the button and it will turn on my pi and light up the LEDs.

I would also like to have everything power off one mains adapter, im guessing i needing to add a power board but which one?

I hope someone can helpme out.

Thanks

Mike

Hey Michael, great idea! I love using old consoles as a housing for new gear -- I have an Atari 2600 with a micro PC inside that I use as an emulator. Sometimes I risk causing a universe-destroying paradox by emulating Atari 2600 games on it image

Keep us posted on how you're doing with the Xbox hack. Would love to see it in action.

We've got a few issues of the new Raspberry Pi magazine that's full of great projects along these lines. If you add your postal address to your profile, I'd be happy to post you out a copy to help you get under the skin of the RPi a little quicker. Just make sure you come back here and give us an update on the Xbox Pi! image
