Raspberry Pi B inside a xBox 360 Shell. Power button/lights question?

Hi

I currently have a raspberry pi B board with a self powered USB hub attached, running two USB hard drives plugged into it. i have it all sitting inside a xbox 360 shell and i was wondering if it is possible to wire up the 4 leds and power button(on the xbox RF module) to the gpio headers on my Pi, so I can push the button and it will turn on my pi and light up the LEDs.

I would also like to have everything power off one mains adapter, im guessing i needing to add a power board but which one?

You can probably power your RasPi from your hub as long as its external power supply has enough current left over after powering the two hard drives. All you would need to do is connect a USB cable from one of your hub USB A ports to RasPi's Micro USB power jack. This assumes that your hub does not have intelligent current control, otherwise it might only supply 100 mA until the device asks for more. RasPi's power jack only connects +5V and GND, so it can't communicate over the USB data lines. Usually hubs are dumb about this and just connect all the Vbus signals to a common +5V rail. I rather like that Mausberry circuit from its description -- I haven't tried it myself. The circuit is more for turning power off than turning it on -- if you turn off RasPi power without issuing "shutdown" you can corrupt the file system. The Mausberry circuit and its software should take care of this. Hope this helps!
