After installing Raspin for the first time, I get to the pi@raspberrypi~$ prompt. I type startx to get the GUI. The following error displays: "GDBus.Error.org.freedesktop.Policykit1.Error.Failed. Cannot determine user of subject." After clicking okay, I do have the Raspberry Menu at the top left of the monitor. And I can run programs from the drop down.
After selecting Shutdown/Rebbot, I am prompted for a username and password, and as per the installation instructions, I enter pi for the username, and raspberry for the password. I get to the pi@raspberrypi~$ prompt and type startx. I get the same error.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to fix the error?
Also, I followed the NOOBS startup video to a T, but I noticed one slight difference with my install at the very end of the process (aside from me getting the error, of course). The video shows icons up and down the left side of the screen. I did not get that. But like I said above, I got the Raspberry Menu, and the drop down selection do seem to work. I tried Programming/Python2; Games/Minecraft Pi; Accessories/Calculator; etc. All are working. Is the absence of the icon up and down the screen an issue? Perhaps related to the above error?
