raspberry pi touch screen issue

our touch screen will not boot the image on the sd card,  we've loaded raspiban onto it  but haven't been able to get anything to display on the actual touch screen. we've confirmed that the unit itself is operational and is able to read the sd card, this was done by connecting the pi via hdmi to an external monitor. the screen powers on and greets us with a blank white screen. I'm not certain whether this has to do with the coding on the sd card or if one of our components is damaged or not. we've tried connecting multiple touch screens to other pies as well as ours but the same results follow. does anybody know how to resolve this ? any help is much appreciated

    I too am facing the blank white screen issue with my Pi 2. The connection are all good and I have carefully verified them based on this page. I have run the apt-get update/upgrade step (by first connecting it to an external hdmi monitor). But when I start the pi with the touchscreen, i only get a blank white screen (though the pi seems to be booting up based on the led lights on the board).

     

    The board was purchased 2 weeks ago, so I would assume its relatively current. Are there any other steps we need to do? There was a mention of installing wheezy instead of using noobs (which is what I set up the pi with), but I would think running the apt-get upgrade would update and install any drivers needed (including enabling the DSI port).

     

    ANY update on this issue would be most helpful.
