I am trying to load the latest Download the Latest Logi-Image and I keep running into this error:

PANIC: VFS: Unable to mount root fr on unknown-block(179,2)

Entering kdb (current=0xda850000, pid 1) due to Keyboard Entry

kdb>

but I can't type anything or use the mouse.

I have been google this problem. I have tried to change the mmcblk0p2 ot mmcblk0p6, tried to reflash and re-install the SD card multiple times, etc. I can't get this to work.

What am I doing wrong??

Thanks!

Sounds like the same issue as discover here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=47286&sid=40a1649c85b8653f26e440250795403d

which is where I imagine you got the instructions to change block 2 to 6. Perhaps the block is on a different number.

to see what block you need to be on, do "sudo fdisk -l" and "sudo df -h" to see what Root is

What brand/model of sd card are you using?  There is some talk on elinux.org about usb devices corrupting the SD cards when using usb devices.  Additionally some SD cards are not compatible and will cause this error.

See: RPi SD cards - eLinux.org for a list of approved sd cards.

If you need to get to the command line without using usb kbd/mouse you can use an FTDI uart/usb adapter and connect to the Rpi serial terminal connection:

Try re-downloading the OS image, reflashing the SD card and rebooting the Pi.

Already tried reloading and reflashing it. I did it like 5ish times.

And its not the card - I have used that card in the past. No problems before (and yes, I did it the exact same way, on the same machines, with the same image - I have the old image saved on my computer AND I tried re-downloading the image in case it was changed). And the card is not corrupt because I have no problems with it in the computer.

I really think some software packages have been changed and I just don't know what to do or how to check.

There are very minor changes to the logi-image such as enabling spi, installing the logi loader and installing python dev tools.  The current logi-image has been test on many sd cards and all pi versions - where  the  pi-2 requires a few modifications.    For listed changes see the following link.

If you think you are having issues with the current pre-configured logi-image,  It is straightforward to create your own logi image from the latest raspbian release following these instructions, given image:

    Hi,

sorry that thing does not work fine for you. Can you provide some more informations :

    - OS used to flash the card

    - Size of the SD-card

Have you tried to boot the Pi without the LOGI-Pi plugged in ?

You can build your own logi-image based on the latest tools by doing the followings :

    - flash the sd card with a recent raspbian image and boot you Pi with it

    - run the following commands on raspbian

    sudo  apt-get install git

    git clone https://github.com/fpga-logi/logi-tools.git

    cd logi-tools

    sudo ./install_logipi

    cd ~

    git clone -b logipi https://github.com/fpga-logi/logi-apps.git

At this point you have eveyrything software wise. There is only one additional step for the latest (2015) images :

-Enable SPI , edit /boot/config.txt and add :

    dtparam=spi=on

Reboot your Pi and try to run the examples in logi-apps.
