PANIC: VFS: Unable to mount root fr on unknown-block(179,2)

I am trying to load the latest Download the Latest Logi-Image and I keep running into this error:

PANIC: VFS: Unable to mount root fr on unknown-block(179,2)

Entering kdb (current=0xda850000, pid 1) due to Keyboard Entry

kdb>

but I can't type anything or use the mouse.

I have been google this problem. I have tried to change the mmcblk0p2 ot mmcblk0p6, tried to reflash and re-install the SD card multiple times, etc. I can't get this to work.

What am I doing wrong??

to see what block you need to be on, do "sudo fdisk -l" and "sudo df -h" to see what Root is

What brand/model of sd card are you using? There is some talk on elinux.org about usb devices corrupting the SD cards when using usb devices. Additionally some SD cards are not compatible and will cause this error.

See: RPi SD cards - eLinux.org for a list of approved sd cards.

If you need to get to the command line without using usb kbd/mouse you can use an FTDI uart/usb adapter and connect to the Rpi serial terminal connection:

Boot your pi up. Hold shift to go into recovery.

You will find the cmdline.txt file, change mmcblk0p2 to mmcblk0p6.
dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rootfstype=ext4 noatime quiet rootwait loglevel=1 persistent-logs zram.num_devices=2
to
dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 root=/dev/mmcblk0p6 rootfstype=ext4 noatime quiet rootwait loglevel=1 persistent-logs zram.num_devices=2

3. Reboot Pi.
