Helmet mounted HUD design

Question

I am currently working on a project that uses a helmet mounted HUD which will show a camera view with overlays for health percentage, GPS map location, shield percentage and target markers using the raspberry pi 2 like the HUD's in video games for use in airsoft games. I am not sure if it is possible to do it with the raspberry pi 2 and what software I would need can someone lead me in the right direction.

Should be fairly simple....the RPi has easy hookups for video and audio, and with a Linux frontend running, the only problem I foresee is developing the software and sensors that would detect the hit, and then the software would register the hit, and adjust HP/shield status accordingly. I've got an idea for a similar idea, but would be used for law enforcement and defense utilization.
