Enable the IT9135 (WandTv) DVB Usb stick

Former Member
Former Member over 10 years ago

Dear friends,

I tried to ask in many forums (without any success) regarding the use of the WandTv DVB stick on Raspberry PI 2 with any XBMC (Kodi) flavor.

Does anyone knows how to do that in a simple way?

I'm a newbie without much knowledge on Linux, neither programming.

Thank you very much!

Ilan.

Do you have Rasbian? If so, open a terminal window and try the command with the DVB plugged in:

    lsusb

The output will tell me what drivers you need.

    Thanks,

    Clem

    Well,

I reinstalled NOOBS to the SD card and the unit works!!

Now, back to the old question, is it possible to use the card with any kodi variation for Raspberry?

    1. Please take the one with NOOBS, I am going to show you a better version http://www.berryterminal.com/doku.php/berryboot. Take your time and read it,. I believe you will find it easier to use.
    2. If your on a Windows machine launch cmd (aka command line). You will need to launch as administrator if Windows 7 or later.
    3. Enter: diskpart
    4. list disk (enter)
    5. select disk (type the disk number for the SD card not HD. Please double check) (enter)
    6. clean (enter that will delete all the partitions that you have on your card)
    7. then to create a new partition type for FAT
create partition primary and hit enter
    8. Exit and do a format as FAT.
    9. Download link Berryboot for the quad-core Raspberry Pi 2:berryboot-20150401-pi2-only.zip
      sha1sum: bc7223fde1c54f7047a74534d11dca6900bec60d
    10. Unzip contents to FAT directory
    11. reboot Pi with this SD card.
    12. Look for openelec and wait for it to download. You may need to reconfigure for wireless/wired access.
    13. Here is a picture:

    Dear Clem,

What's the difference between this and NOOBS?

On both we have OpenElec, no?

This is better for many reasons not the least being better support and open source. I have tried all the choices and found little trouble.

    Clem

PS I will be around for a while longer should you run into any questions.

    Dear Clem,

I will try and do that.

My questions is if this OpenElec will have an option to use the DVB-T stick?

I can use OpenElec or OSMC or Xbian, all the same to play some videos and music.

My issue is that I need to configure it for live tv.

    Dear Clem,

    It works excellent!!!

    Thank you 1000 times.

I have 2 questions that maybe you can help me:

    1. When I turn off the TV and the receiver and then turn them on again while the RPI is on, I cannot see the whole image - I see the XBMC oin the top right, like in a box.

    You can see it here:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/fykg0vhyx02quve/20150418_145834.jpg?dl=0

I need to reboot the Raspbnerry so I can see the interface again.

    2. Do you know how to record a tv show running?

I couldn't find it on the net.

    Thank you again!

    Ilan.

So the DVB receives TV signals through Kodi!image That is fantastic. Would you kindly mark the correct answer and any helpful suggestions up to 2 so others reading the blog can find them in our long discussion. I will look around to see how to record TV.

So happy this worked out for youimage,

Till now I don't know how to make the DVB stick to work...

    So sorry...

p.s. I cannot see the USB stick on TVheadhend

    Dear Clem,

Please don't judge me because of my ignorance.

I really tried to make it work and I also read a post here but it was misleading.

    Can you still help me?

    Dear Clem,

I hope that you were right.

I read all the posts and tried to search for help on other forums but with no success.

I think that I will give up, buy a normal pc and use Windows for my DVB-T needs.

Thank you again for all your help and kindness!!
