Raspberry Pi 3 Model B not work anymore

coder_hasib
coder_hasib over 2 years ago

Hi, I have bought Raspberry Pi 3 Model B a few years ago. At first, it works well and then it was unused for years. When I try to power it on it shows only a red led. I have tried several ways. But not work. Last night I have tried to power using Xiaomi Redmi 10 mobile charger, but now it shows no led. I have gone to a mechanic for a test and he said, the power is not flowing all over the circuit but 5v is still getting. So, the device is dead?

coder_hasib  If you threw it in the bin, go pull it out.  I danced a similar dance a few years ago - including digging it out of the trash.

Reflash your SD card with a new image of the Raspberry Pi OS and see if that doesn't change things.  It did for me.  The new image caused it to work, but I can't remember why.

    Best of luck.

Don't you just love technology. Not especially when it goes bad.

No red LED sounds like power issues rather than SD card ones.

Red LED but no green LED sounds more like SD card problems.

Wasn't there an issue of some SD card holders becoming physically detached from the PCB resulting in boot issues ?
