How can I compile a device tree into Diet Pi OS?

MRevel
MRevel over 2 years ago

I have some ts7600 boards, and they are very out of date. They have some interesting hardware, and loads of IO,
but  they are difficult to use, because there is no package support for kernel 3.14, and to compile any modern package you need some form of encryption support, such as Open SSL.

Well, anyway, I have the device tree files, and i would like to build them into an existing armel (32 bit arm) OS such as diet Pi.
Alas, I have never done this before, and I am not sure what to do. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You might be better off asking on the DietPi forum (they are very helpful too): https://dietpi.com/forum/

Based on my very brief experience using DietPi, it seemed to be more constrained than other distros in terms of allowing you to add in what you want in the bootup sequence (e.g. Debian allows you to modify extlinux.conf to add in your specific DTBO details).

Have you considered Yocto? There are experts in the community who might be able to assist here.
