Problem with raspberry pi 3 B GPIO there are not working , BrachioGraph project

samiboutgoulla
samiboutgoulla over 2 years ago

hello everyone, I created a BRACHIOGRAPH with a raspberry pi 3 and a three servo here is the documentation https://www.brachiograph.art/ and also here is the github link of the project https://github.com/evildmp /BrachioGraph.git , I noticed that it draws me every time a half circle, so I tried to test the GPIOs of the raspberry pi with the servos I distinguished that the GPIOs do not work except GPIO 14 it's the only one that works can you help me

    Hi Sami,

I only looked at one photo because it's too awkward to look through all these links.

    image

There is a chance your breadboard power supply rails are disconnected in the centre, and may need wire links to bridge the gaps.

Also, the jumper cables you are using often break at the ends, so you may think there are connections when there are not. The breadboard could be very faulty too.

Really this design needs to be redone from scratch, using a better prototyping method. A stripboard or other soldered prototyping board could be used, and higher quality jumper wires. It doesn't cost a lot, and will save a ton of troubleshooting time for you. Also, it looks like you may be using a battery to power the servos and it might not be good enough for three servos. A separate supply (could be a DC power brick) would be a better option. You should use a multimeter to confirm there is power to all servos.

The current prototype you have in the photo looks extremely unreliable I'm sorry to say.

    Welcome to element14 Sami.

It is easy to damage rpi gpio.  I know from experience. :-(

But there are many gpio on the rpi.  The brachiograph wiring diagram uses 3 pins for the servo motor controls. Did you try other pins?  They might work.

Hello mp2100 , I tried many times to use other GPIO but there not working I don't know why , the only one that it is working is GPIO14,if you have an idea why they are not working?

Looking at your points accumulation it appears you are new to the E14 Community. Welcome. There are a number of professionals that hang out here who can help you troubleshoot your problem depending on your investment.

Think of getting insight into a problem like fishing. Bait on the hook is a necessity. Good bait makes for good fishing. You investment in the question (i.e. bait) improves the chance someone will come along for a nibble. Like fishing it may take some time for a bite.

Your bait at the moment is pretty thin. I the reader have to do a lot of work to understand the problem before providing some sound advice.

What is the meaning "GPIO's do not work except GPIO14"?

Can you confirm the Pi GPIO's were working before the project?

How have you tested the GPIO's?

The photo's evidence reduce my confidence you have reliable circuits. Is it possible to construct one servo circuit, omitting all the other cruft and use that circuit as a test example?

Details are the extra folds of worm pushed onto the hook that improve your chances of someone taking a bite.
