You can install Windows IoT core on older versions of RPI, not sure about server or desktop editions.
Definitely not. Here are the system requirements: www.microsoft.com/.../windows-11-specifications
Processor is not supported, TPM is not available on RPi, etc.
I can't wait to see how some of the other linux distributions pan out for this version of the RPi.
Is there something you are missing from the current ones?
all of these is bypassable. It also do not satisfy requirements fro Windows 10, but community get it worked. With Windows 11 it will be the same.
No deficiencies for my meager needs, I just enjoy reading others updates about their experiences with each new iteration. My needs were met by version 2, but I keep getting other versions anyway. :-)
I installed Windows 11 ARM on my Pi 4/8gb with no problems so I don’t see why it wouldn’t on a 5. It does run slower than I’d like it to, but other than that it does run. I just pre-ordered the 5 so I’ll find out eventually.
Do you have instructions on how you managed that?
Sure…. https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/install-windows-11-raspberry-pi
I installed it on an 500gb NVMe for fast boot up.
I was just reading about the new pi 5 processor; “The ARM Cortex-A76 is a central processing unit implementing the ARMv8.2-A 64-bit instruction set designed by ARM Holdings' Austin design centre.” So it appears Win 11 Arm will run since it requires ARMv8.2, and with the extra power maybe even at an acceptable level. Can’t wait to give it a try.
