Is it possible to install windows on pi 5?
how is the performance?
Hi. I have been running win 11 on the Pi4 8GB for over a year. I get regular Windows updates and all is well. I used the WOR project system to load a Win 11 Pro image to an ssd. It boots from USB3 with no problem (you need to alter the boot sequence using the official Raspberry Pi utility on Raspberry Pi Imager). I bought a licence online, so the Pi 4 sits on my Microsoft account as an activated image.
I now have a Pi 5 8GB and it's an entirely different story. There is a third party release on github which needs to be copied to an sd card and provides a bootloader. (nothing else on this card). The WOR project has not been updated beyond RPi 4. I created a brand new ssd win 11 image using the RPi4 option. This did not work at all. The ssd activity light showed no activity. I then repeated the process using the WOR RPi2/3 version. The ssd light shows lots of activity, which suggests that Win 11 has loaded. The reason why I say "suggests" is because there is no HDMI output whatsoever!
If I run the Raspberry Pi OS, I have good HDMI output and the Pi 5 is definitely fast. If I connect the ssd with Win 11 I get a message "cannot display this video mode" on an otherwise black screen. Interestingly, I also get that message for about 20 seconds before the HDMI kicks in when running the Raspberry Pi OS. This is my experience so far with Pi 5. If anyone can shed any light on the HDMI issue then I would be most grateful.

Has there been any updates on this in the past 3 months?
