What are some random uses for a RPI Pico?

Everyone Heart's the RPI Pico!

What are some random uses for a RPI Pico?

-Power Supply (The pico has a buck-boost DCDC converter outputting 3.3V @ 1A)

-USB Serial Adapter (use the https://github.com/raspberrypi/picoprobe firmware for a USB-Uart Converter, no more FTDI breakout boards!)

-Logic analyzer https://github.com/pico-coder/sigrok-pico

-Oscilloscope https://github.com/fhdm-dev/scoppy

-Microphone

Jan's USBTMC DAQ

What's your favorite random use for a Pico

Its a start (totally random use for a pico...)

Hopping between two feedback divider values.

Its too bad the PLLs don't have fractional feedback dividers

There is still a lot of register combinations to arrive at many different discrete output frequencies.

    I'll keep tinkering away...

I'm using it in as a device for our secretary to call us ( me and my colleagues - we are in another room).  Since we are most of the time with the headphones on, we miss to ear the phone ringing. Headphones

Be careful, once she finds out they're inexpensive she is bound to just open the door and throw around Pico boards until she gets your attention.  Wink

When I first saw the spectrum plot I was really excited because I thought someone used an RPI Pico to make a spectrum analyzer.

I have done half a dozen Pico projects but every time I check out what people are doing with the Pico, my to do list grows.

Here are a couple of ideas currently catching my eye:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IP3QVGmd_90&ab_channel=bitluni

A Pi Zero 2 W MQTT broker with PI Pico W MQTT clients.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IP3QVGmd_90&ab_channel=bitluni

    Multimedia HID controller

    loosely something like this :

I quite like this.  I can actually imagine her swearing under her breath at the nerds in the ‘playroom’ who need to get serious.
