Raspberry pi 3 wont launch I think?

I just got a raspberry pi 3 for my computer class and my teacher installed Noobs onto it for us. So i brought it home to use and i set everything up on my laptop so i can download raspbian from noobs so i can use it. But i had my sd card in hdmi cords in and my micro usb cord in and nothing showed up when i plugged it in to turn it on but nothing happened? what do I do please help Fast!?!?

    Hi Devin,

     

    It might be one or more of several things.

    Could you confirm how you got the software image onto the SD card? There is a procedure (see raspberrypi.org) that needs to be followed, you cannot just drag and drop or copy/paste the file onto the SD card, that won't work.

    Secondly what is the micro USB connected to? It needs to go to a power supply capable of at least 2A or more. You can't plug it into the laptop (well, you can but needs some thought and not all laptop USB ports will support it (most will not support it).
