New RPI software image - 10 May 2016

Looks like there is a new image available to download today, see https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/another-update-raspbian/

Seems like there are quite a few changes..

Some Bluetooth updates including a GUI - but no explanation of how to do the same thing from the CLI, so we'll still be guessing for now unless we examine the source code

Also, Linux kernel update, and something called Dynamic Device Tree for on-the-fly changes, but apparently some will not be reversible without a reboot.

I don't know what else will be impacted, or whether it is still possible to opt-out of having to create your own device tree fragments.

Oh and the LED behaviour has changed again. Apparently they will extinguish on the Pi 3 after shutdown - up until now they stay lit which is (i.e. was) confusing.

Also, 'pigpio' library seems to be pushed a lot, it is installed by default. But it doesn't seem to have very beginner-friendly documentation. The first few paragraphs of

documentation talk about daemons and sockets and pipes.. Currently wiringPi is better documented.

Oh if you want the latest without a new install, try this on current Jessie only:

    sudo apt-get update

    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

sudo apt-get install piclone geany usb-modeswitch
