how to interface lcd 16*2 with raspberry pi

i was trying to interface the lcd with following pdf but it does not work properly could anyone help me to interface lcd 16* 2 with raspberry pi 3 module

Assuming you followed this tutorial, it may work. They are saying the LCD MAY BE a HD44780 controller in the very first sentence. Where did you get yours? Can you post a picture showing the pin-out and any other details to help? A link to where you got it from can be useful.

Here is the datasheet JHD162A ... - Datasheet Search Engine Download which should give details on usage. Better yet, I found a blog for the Arduino using Using a JHD162A LCD Screen with an Arduino Uno . Surprisingly they claim compatibility with HD44780! So did you double check your wiring? Is the software you used match where you got it? Without details I cannot guess what failed.
