Interesting use of Raspberry Pi

GeoffPotter

The German band Kraftwerk are installing a series of 'art' pieces in Oslo, Norway for their upcoming tour: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBcSfgm9ig0

I went to the website Num8rs where Raspberry Pis can be seen in the manufacture of the installation.

Looks like there driving simple solid state relays, not all the components are visable connected to the second board but it is using SPI and the left most components is a Solid State Relay for sure

I don't think its using SPI. SPI would be using more pins on the odd side (away from the edge of the board). And counting  the pins, on this side I see 15 (GPIO22)  connected and not 19,21,23 needed for SPI.

My first guess for the breadboarded chip is ULN2003, providing a 5V signal to the input side of the SSR as opposed to the 3.3V from the 'pi. (you can see pin2, 5V connected on the connector).

Probably more likely if all they are driving a Relay

I was thinking more a like the chip on the PI Digital but you may well be correct.

Yes it apears they are only friving relays (Solid State ones)

Received a notification from Element 14 that my original post has been approved - six years after submitting it! Can't blame COVID for that... Unfortunately the YouTube video is no longer available.

I got SPAMMED last night by Element14 with 100+ emails from notifications... Most of them don't point to sites anymore... Don't know what the hell happened...

Interesting, I got about 100 messages from the raspberry pi group. I ended up on following and they stopped. Was wondering what was going on?
