DIY Electronic Drum Kits

I would like to know if any one else has built a DIY Electronic Drum kit if so what type of drum triggers did you use?

Also how did you build your kit and what did you build it out of?

I have used Piezo disks (benders). They are low cost but need to be isolated mechanically from each other because they are so sensitive they will respond to vibration coming from the next drum pad.

You can see what they look like here:

    Tis The Season For Arduino

To make a drum pad experiment with a layer of wood or plastic sandwiched between layers of rubber all sitting on top of the sensor.

That's pretty cool, the build I have right now I used piezo elements and RCA jacks the module that I use is a Simmons SD7K,

and I converted acoustic drums into an electronic kit for the heads I use DIY mesh drum heads I made myself with existing

hoops and fiberglass solar window screen. To make the heads I cut the window screen to attach it to the hoops with hot

glue then when the hot glue sets and dries I trim off the extra mesh. for the electronics I used angel brackets double sided

tape the DIY drum triggers and craft foam. also small clamps are needed when attaching the mess to the hoops with hot

glue, for different ways to install the electronics you can look them up online one site I would suggest you look up is

www.edrums.info or Google search. Another way to look this up is go to youtube and type in DIY electronic drums in

    the search bar.
