Wrappers and other languages

Hi all,

 

and thank you for such dedicated and elaborate answers. I've been scouring through most of it - very informative.

I'm wondering if anybody has played around with other languages such as python with the Wolfson card attached. Making the card flex its muscles with the shell commands (use cases) is fairly straight forward, but to put it in a for me even more useful context I'd like to use it in a python script.

So my question is if anyone has any information or examples on using the card with pyAudio and, furthermore, if there's any info on doing FFT on the GPU of the pi - perhaps there's a wrapper for programming api's like python or another language?

 

Any light shed on this matter is greatly appreciated

    Hey,

     

    have a look at http://python-sounddevice.readthedocs.io/en/latest/examples.html for examples how nice python works even with real-time sound processing.

    For FFT see https://docs.scipy.org/doc/numpy/reference/routines.fft.html.

     

    If you are new to python https://werkraum.ixpa.de/wiki/index.php/Python  should be a good starting point.

     

    For my part: I am currently running sounddevice on the rpi2 with the Cirrus Logic Audio Card and it works. For low latency I want to use JACK (Cirrus Logic Audio Card with JACK ) wich is accessible as one host API via sounddevice (https://github.com/spatialaudio/jackclient-python/pull/34 ) but JACK does not work jet.
