Take the NEW PiRack Connect Four Challenge for a chance to win a $275 Arduino Robot development kit!

We have exciting news for anyone working on Pi projects!

The element14 Community’s PiRack Connect Four Challenge is open for project submissions until October 18th, and we are offering you a chance to get started on your entry with a free PiRack! The winner will receive the Arduino Robot Development Kit. The winner will also receive the Connect Four board game, a vertical checkers game.

The PiRack is an expansion board that allows the connection of 4 I/O boards to the Raspberry Pi. It also enables the Pi Camera Module to be used at the same time as the expansion boards.

If you are interested in getting a free PiRack in exchange for entering the PiRack Connect Four Challenge, please respond to this post with an outline and description of your project idea. The element14 Community team will review the ideas and let you know if you are selected to receive a free PiRack.

I have built a fire powered Pi that was featured on Make Magazine Blog and Geek Magazine Blog. I am currnetly working on a self contained, portable, completly solar powered raspberry pi time lapse brick that can be placed in a remote location. This could also include a use as a remote camera or survaliance unit.

I am working on a maze solver robot based on the Raspberry Pi. I am using a 5000mAH battery pack, 2 80 rpm Motors and IR sensors for distance measurement. I was able to run the Pi and the motors for more than 10 minutes using the Battery pack. I am using a laser cut chassis and would love to use the PiRack in my bot.

I am currently making my Raspbeey Pi portable by putting it in an old portable DVD player that has Composte import. I have gutted the DVD play and inserted the PI I need to customize the case to allow for hte USB cord and wire it into the DVD player's power. Right now it works but is ugly Mounting the PIRack on the back of the display would allow us (me and my son) to do projects without pulling the PI out of the DVD case.

Hi all,

I'm building a 1/12 (yes, a very different size) replica of a King Tiger, fully controllable by a web-interface (moving, firing, you name it), with webcamera(s) to see where the heck it's going.
The project is still in a very early stage, but imagine it, nearly a meter long battle tank, awesomeness
