I suggest you ask the manufacturer directly for that info or contact your sales representative at Farnell/Newark for that info.
I would not bet on someone from RPI coming across this comment by chance.

    Hi,

First of all, thank you for creating this wonderful product !

We use it in an industrial context at our company, where we manufacture 2-axis solar trackers. I had a question about the estimated lifetime of the CM4 (MTTF) module.

The aim is to estimate the functional lifetime (known as MTBF, Mean Time between Failure), "Mean time between two consecutive failures".

A failure is something related to hardware (not software).

This is an important marker for us. It enables us to anticipate a maintenance strategy, in particular with regard to the proper management of spare parts stocks and their cost of ownership...

We need to make an overall estimate of the MTBF of our controller, which includes the host electronic board, the CM4 module and the casing, all in an outdoor environment (-25°C to 50°C).

To sum up, we just want to have an estimate of the CM4's MTBF, which we can then integrate into our overall MTBF of the controller (if your estimate is at room temperature, for example, we'll extrapolate for higher range of temperatures).

I'm aware that this type of information can be confidential, but an estimate would suffice.

    Thanks for your help

    Christophe

    1. What you are showing is not the Official I/O Board, its best to contact the manufacturer(designer ) of that board.

    2. I'm only a User of this Forum like you. You need to contact someone that has actual affiliation with the product you have trouble with.
here we can only give advice from the User perspective , since I'm not using the same board as you Iḿ unable to advise for your specific case. I was expecting that you mean the real I/O board provided by Raspberry pi.

Do you have the Battery connected? without keeping power alive, the RTC cannot hold any state itself.
If the Battery is inserted and full, touching the board might be an ESD event that resets the RTC chip, this implies improper grounding in your setup/the person operatiing it.
