Seeking Feedback on Your Interest in Roadtesting a Battery Fuel Gauge Board

I have a sponsor interested in roadtesting its Fuel Gauge board. I'd like to get your interest. I've added some background information and documents to review.

Here's some info about the board:

The nPM Fuel Gauge board (nPM FG) connects to a compatible Nordic Semiconductor evaluation kit. The purpose of the board is to act as a constant current sink device during battery profiling with nPM PowerUP desktop software. The battery model generated in nPM PowerUP can be used for evaluation of fuel gauge in nPM PowerUP and exported as an include file for use in any application using the Nordic Fuel Gauge algorithm. To use the nPM Fuel Gauge board you also need the nPM1300 Evaluation Kit, which would be provided to you.

This board does seem very interesting, as most fuel-gauges require batteries to be sent to the manufacturer for characterization. Having a quick way to do it ourselves is great to see.

Fuel gages are notoriously problematic, so a test system is a great idea.

It would useful to be able to test and compare other fuel gages using the same test card and software.

I hope road testers figure out how to compare various fuel gages.

Completely agree! If the roadtester can compare some of the competing PMICs against nPM1300 it will be a really cool road test!

Heart of it is a single MOSFET Current sinking with a DAC driven i/p voltage source + Current sensing using TI's INA236AIDDFR 16bit Power monitor

Looks like a nice part, in a friendly package (0.5 mm QFN option). But actually a nice part for all the non-fuel-gauge features! Odd that the fuel gauge requires a specific microcontroller.

I can see myself wanting to use this chip for USB battery charging and providing a couple of supplies (and switching on power!) all in a single part, and the price is very reasonable too.

Worth it even if the fuel gauge functionality is not used.

I hope reviewers try this part with a generic microcontroller board (e.g. any Arduino, or Pi Pico, etc).

I'm not applying for this road test. because I already used in /products/roadtest/rv/roadtest_reviews/1770/nordic_npm1300_power_management_ic_eval_kit_-_roadtest_review road test review. I already have this kit. it's easy to use but requires more time to finish battery profiling. I have tried 800mAH battery profiling it will take around 48 hours to finish.
