imageGIZMO 2GIZMO 2 is the second generation open source x86 development board presented by GizmoSphere. Gizmo 2 provides the power of a high performance computer and the I/O capabilities of a microcontroller through the use of an AMD Embedded G-Series System-on-Chip (SOC). The board includes the AMD GX-210HA dual-core processor, combined on a single die with AMD Radeon HD 8210E discrete-class graphics, providing 85 GFLOPS performance while drawing only 9 watts TDP.
Gizmo 2 is among the highest performing Open Source x86 development boards available, providing a wealth of leading features and capabilities including an HDMI dedicated port, an mSATA port for connecting SSDs and a microSD card slot.
Key Applications: Gizmo 2 can be used in do-it-yourself (DIY) designs, embedded development, PC replacement, microcontroller applications, parallel processing, multi-core engineering, industrial control and automation, digital signage, electronic gaming systems, SMB storage, IP-TV, medical and network appliances, set-top boxes and more. Any type of application that would require high processing power, high graphics performance, and the ability to control external objects (relays, motors, lights, etc) as well as take inputs from many types of sources (sensors, keyboard, Internet)

  • I would like to try one on svxlink and echolink

  • Working on a small POV robot, perhaps this would help.

  • Thanks for the reply!
I was quickly able to look around and find my way to the information to enroll.
My applications are primarily for fun, RC Flight and secondarily for commercial application depending on how well
    the "fun" works out :-)
My issue was with both the AD and that it took me to *this* page directly after signing up.
From the AD I expected that signing up included some kind of enrollment and it did not.
Nor did it land me somewhere where I could actually know if I was enrolled or not.
You can tell from the other user comments on this page that they thought the same thing and are posting comments that to me indicate they think they're all set
and just have to "wait" and see if someone contacts them back.
    I don't think that's cool.
And from *this* page on the bottom (dark gray section) or the top (no such link up there) or the lower right (facebook like and macos links) http://www.element14.com/community/welcome is not available as a clickable link
Nor does anything here quickly steer you there until your post. :-)
I was annoyed and I spoke out.
    :-)

  • The road tests here are just that, road tests. They aren't commercial samples for you to determine the suitability of the product in your commercial project. (or are they?)

If on the other hand you are willing to share that information, then by all means sign up for the roadtest and publish your findings, I am sure the community

would appreciate it.  You just need a well thought out proposal that clearly defines your intentions with the product. Those seem to be the only requirements.

I enjoy the opportunity to put my ideas into an application form. I may win the opportunity to try some devices or I may not.

It depends on the quality of the proposals and those that spark an interest with the team that judges and decides how to allocate these products.

Your very idea actually sounds pretty good, it certainly is interesting and I can see a wide range of applications for it.

In respect to finding the application form, if you don't see the below on the panel on the right hand side of the main landing page (http://www.element14.com/community/welcome) , then you

may have some other type of problem. It may be a registration issue, or something else.

Best of luck to you in managing to complete an application and submitting your idea. If you win, I am sure the community would appreciate your findings.

Heck I might submit that idea myself. :-)

  • So far not impressed only annoyed.
I get a facebook ad that clearly states it is "to be able to test drive this product.
I register and log in and now there is only this very vague page with a public comment section.
A very high level information video (not geared toward us devs whatsoever).
A page with absolutely NO contact links so I can even ask.
    And this:

We do have an application that requires this type of hardware or hardware from a competitor for realtime high quality low latency video streaming from a mobile airborne platform.

Completely useless website with a bunch of "hopefuls" posting comments hoping to evaluate some product.

I'd like to test the product but really hate half baked pathetic marketing wastes of time like this one truly is.

  • I LIKE TO TRY AND TEST ... I look forward your contact .. image

  • I would love to put it to the test.

  • Love the fact this is a x86 architecture making it incredibly easy to get and write applications for compared to the ARM.   Looking forward to it!!
