Wish List Preferences

I am curious if other makers have similar views to me...

What instrument is highest on your wish list?

What prize would you find most motivating in a design challenge?

Which instrument would you most like to road test?

If you comment, perhaps you could list your top 3 wish list instruments.

A desktop CNC mill would probably be at the top of the list. A PCB printer has always been desirable, however it's now a lot easier these days to get small batches of custom PCBs made by mail order supply…

PCB from outsource has always the problem of time. And cost increase if you should correct them. So launching a mail order small quantity supply batch after a bare prototype has been tested remain preferable…

    £40 for Ferodo equivalents.

Yes there are equivalents out there, but if you want to retain the same stopping capability, along with disc wear, sometimes you've got to take the hit.

Hopefully mine won't be needed for a bit more, and they'll have to come from the states ....

Apparently even the bolts holding the calipers on are one time use.

I've priced new pads for mine and they aren't cheap.

Indeed and I needed new discs as well, the ABS fault was damaged wiring to one of the speed sensors.

My rather old 4ch Tektronix scope released a large amount of magic smoke a couple of years ago and I have been without since. Being retired I have a very limited budget for supporting  my hobbies and a decent scope is just never going to happen so far I have managing to get by without.

    3D printer I have.

I also have an old weller and antex soldering irons but not a modern temperature controlled one.

A binocular microscope would be nice as components / pcb tracks are getting so much smaller or is it  my eyesight that's not what it used to be image

Never had much use for a function generator.

New Car!  well that would also be nice, just had to spend >£450 on new brakes and repair to ABS system on mine image
