Poll: Have you used a UV/VIS/NIR spectrometer in your work life?

I am working with a supplier that makes compact UV, VIS, and NIR spectrometers. We were discussing what we could do with them on the community. A Roadtest entered into the discussion.

I wanted to get a feel for how many of you have worked with spectrometers on your job. (If you have, what's the application?)

I have a few of these little portable USB spectrometers at work. https://www.oceaninsight.com/globalassets/catalog-blocks-and-images/manuals--instruction-old-logo/spectrometer/usb4000op…

I have worked with a VIS spectrometer for calibration of a RGB sensor used for measurements related to LED luminaire characterization.

I've never used such a tool but always dreamed to have access to one so I can finally characterize the fumes that come out of the H202+HCl etching solution that I'm using.
I mean, most people say its pure Cl2, some others say it's just O2, some even say it's not gas at all but rather tiny bubbles of the etching solution itself.

But if that's the latter, then it might prove to be too corrosive for any kind of spectrometer to survive...

I built a high speed spectrograph with a friend which was posted here on element14 but it was more of an academic exercise we did for fun. I still have an interest in them. https://www.element14.com/community/community/project14/sensors/blog/2020/11/11/spectrography-using-the-epc901-high-speed-line-image-sensor

Nice device, how much do they run?

I've worked with a bunch of different spectrometers and spectroscopy technologies over the years and even built a few, but it has mostly been a somewhat superficial exposure so I wouldn't pass myself off as any kind of guru. Maybe just enough to get the hang of some of the underlying technologies.

I worked with a couple of companies that build Liquid Chromatography systems.  I developed software (PC and internal firmware) to interface UV/VIS spectrometers to our systems.  At one of those companies, I build a high speed detector board capable of reading up to ten spectrometers (of our own design) simultaneously in a parallel channel Liquid Chromatography system.
