Hello Mads,
as far as I know it seems that the better softare to make the conversion easily is the open source Makerbot replicator application. I have not investigated if this can work without any hardware but I suppose yes as well as Cura and Repetier can do. I suggest you to read this article: https://support.makerbot.com/learn/makerbot-desktop-software/using-makerbot-desktop/how-to-prepare-a-model-for-printing_… it is the better explained I have found until now.
Hope this can help. Enrico
Thanks a lot read the articel and went on to another link:How to Save a Model | MakerBot Desktop (Software) | MakerBot Support , here i found how to do. I'm going to check if it works later
SelfCAD can also do it very well.
You can convert any 3d model into any format given.
Awesome!!! I got a dual extrusion MonoPrice 11614 for $100 and once I found your post was up and running in just a few minutes.
Thanks!!!
Larry
Also faced the same problem. I did not like the work of SelfCAD, but I contacted the manufacturer and he suggested that it is better to use Invertor and do everything in it. And he suggested where I had errors in the settings. So, you can do the same:)
