Sliding Power Connectors

Sliding power connectors permit hot swapping of components in a server drawer. They can eliminate the need for a bulky cable management system within the drawer. The sliding power connector also shows improved voltage drop over cables due to a more direct path from the power source to the server. With limited cabled connections, the sliding power connector is also more reliable. With no need for complex cable management or loose moving parts within the drawer, the sliding power connector provides a simpler design that is less prone to disconnection from the power source. Interesting device, I presume the hot-swapping capability means it can be installed / removed without switching off the power to the bus, but it doesn't look like it has the capability to actually switch the current to the load, so that must be made dead.

    Kind regards.
