Hello, i am looking for a way to test MAX-485 , i do not have any idea how to do it , anyone can help me?
You will need two devices to test it. RS-485 is half duplex, the same two wires are used for transmission and reception, and cannot be looped back.
I understand that, but how to test them, what do i need to test them?
If you want to test an RS-485 device, the only thing you need is another RS-485 device. One that can show what it receives, and can send data back.
If that doesn't work, you will have to dig into the electronica, and use a protocol analiser, or oscilloscope, to see what's happening on the wires.
Maybe with the idea i told u about still not sure, If i connected two PCs using MAX485 and tired to send from pc to the other i guess it should work, Just need to approve it before getting the converters.
If both USB-to-RS-485 boards are connected correctly, and both PCs speak with the same settings, it WILL work.
Are you aware that you need one RS-485 per side?
