Nice!  According to ti.com, the processor has floating point, as well as 256KB Flash and 32KB SRAM.  Great price for eval board, since the chip is $4.40 Q1K by itself! image

    Mine is already on order.

Wow, first msp430 for $4.30 and now Stellaris Cortex for $5. TI is getting serious about taking on the hobby/experimenters market.

Now if they could also port all those handy Arduino libraries and make an easy to use starter GUI, they could take over the world image

I'm looking forward to getting to know their existing tools when the LM4F120 arrives, but, yeah, I'm a bit surprised they've not ported Arduino libraries given they win on hardware cost.

Go to the TI.com site and check into MSP430 or the LM4F120 and you will see a whole host of free software to start from.

One thing I have learned from the MSP430 is that TI and their E2E community have put a lot of suppport documentation and software out for others to play with.

The advantage for pre-ordering the Stillaris board now is that the pre-orders will ship on 25 September.  Orders place after that will be at production limit.  So don't get caught like the PI buyers, get yours on order now.

    Just a thought,

    DAB

    Hi guys,

In case anybody's interested, here's one of my posts regarding a library I wrote for controlling a TM1638 (nice and cheap little board featuring 8 7segment digits !):

    http://trandi.wordpress.com/2012/10/11/tm1638-display-driver-for-stellaris-launchpad/

There was already one for Arduino and the MSP430, and now you can easily use the Stellaris Launchpad too.

You can download the library and use it as you wish, I can't wait to see what people will be doing with it..:)

    Dan
