You can buy cheap postal scales on Ebay, and remove the load cells, They are quality and precise as they have to be.
The problem is changing torque to linear force or vice versa.

I'd be happy to share my project and its goals, for a price... JK. I am working on a custom winding machine. I am looking to make a coil winder that can be setup to do some of the odd windings that are needed where I work and thereby hopefully eliminate the need to go to a third part and convince them to try it and that yes we need it etc. every time we want to test a new setup. If you gyus ar eintrested maybe I can put up more details as i move along the project.
