I would look for the smallest ultrasonic transceivers - here is a waterproof example: http://canada.newark.com/multicomp/mcusd14a48s09rs-30c/transceiver-48khz-14mm-metal/dp/17X2009?st=ultrasonic%20transceiv…

Technically it could do something, but getting medical certification is a whole other question. Also if you want to do ultrasound or sonar in something denser than air, you might go to much higher frequency…

I don't know about medical applications but these are about as cheap as I've seen for ultrasonic transducers in the MHz range: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/5pc-1-7MHz-Ultrasonic-Mist-make-Transducer-Piezoelectric…

You may want a more uniform beam pattern depending on your geometry.

Also if you want to do ultrasound or sonar in something denser than air, you might go to much higher frequency transducers. Anywhere from 0.5 MHz to 6 MHz.

You'll need to do some internet searching - you'll find that it's much harder to get information on medical imaging sensors than sensors for industrial purposes. I think that this is because the manufacturers of medical imaging equipment tend to make their own. I found a few research papers but mainly hidden behind paywalls.

    hi Micheal,

You are absolutely right, its really hard to get information regarding ultrasound imaging transducers. Thank you so much for your efforts. Still if you find any of my need, please suggest.

    Regards,

    Anju
