    Adam Taylor has summarized things really well. Apart from making sure things like IO standards match, most of the migration in terms of implementing the design is handled by vivado anyway. Also, compared to ISE, i find the Vivado block design much easier compared to pure RTL until top level, as was in case of ISE. ISE is very old now, that's one major thing that prevents me even from using some of the older Spartan boards I have.
