Temboo reviews and experiences

How many people here have used temboo? Please review it here. 

 

I was thinking of using it for a project using my CC3200 Launchpad.

 

How have been your experiences using it? how good is the support? Is it reliable? How is the up time?

 

Any better alternative services? I tried Amazon aws IoT, but it's way too complicated for  me to set up.

    Yes used one of the Temboo examples (SendAnEmail) found on the Energia IDE with CC3200 Launchpad. It's very easy to use.

     

    Temboo is nothing like Amazon AWS IoT. In my opinion it is more like a type of IFTTT service where they act as intermediary between your microcontroller and some 3rd party web service. They take the hassle out of developing the code yourself for a particular web service API as they provide a menu of scripts for you to choose from.

     

    Any alternative service. Well there is of course https://ifttt.com/

     

    If you're looking for a platform that is easier to use than AWS, which also includes data storage as well as an SDK for scripting of events, handling interaction with other 3rd party web services as well as handling notifications such as emails etc. then https://www.carriots.com/  might be one to consider. Another comprehensive platform, similar to AWS, would be IBM's bluemix.

     

    If it's simply a cloud based data repository with some charting and analytics capability then there are plenty of these types of platforms available.
