Searching for wire-to-board connector, 34 mm round board, needs battery, haptic motor, speaker wires

Hi 14-ers, I am designing a mobile entertainment IoT device. It is a 34 mm round board with components on both sides. It's an ESP32-S3 Arduino-compatible board with a bunch of sensors. One application will be as a wrist watch. It will have a round battery with + and - leads (30 gauge, ~0.0509mm2), speaker, and haptic motor. I plan to manufacture 500 to 1000 wrist watches. I need an inexpensive and small footprint (less than 10 mm x 5 mm) connector to attach the battery, speaker, haptic motor. What do you recommend?

Reflection's design is free and open-source at https://github.com/frankcohen/ReflectionsOS.

    Hi,

I suggest that the mating connectors to whatever is already on the speaker and motor are used, regardless of cost. Otherwise what you save in any other choice of connector,  will just get absorbed in the cost and time to crimp the cables for the new connectors.

Not sure what your Z-height requirements and mounting orientation will be, but JST SH 1mm connectors seem rather popular for smaller applications without being too esoteric.

Otherwise it may just be better to try and fabricate a flexible flat ribbon PCB to connect those items where you could potentially even go down to 0.5mm pitch.

Thanks, I appreciate you sharing your experience. I am able to specify connectors for the battery, speaker, and haptic motor. The samples I've been working with in breadboarding are simple 30 AWS wire-wrap sized wires.I was hoping there would be some easy connector to take the 6 wires to the board. I have 12 mm x 5 mm availle on the board. It's a wrist watch project so I'm needing the vertical to be 2 mm or less. Here's what it looks like now. image

Thanks! The JST connectors look good and I'm going to investigate them more. It's a wrist watch project so the Z heigh needs to be 2 mm or less. The flex solution seems good and perhaps overkill. I can buy batteries with any connector, for example.
