Design advice on a newbie project!

Hi,

brand new to this site and was looking for advise on starting a home project that:

- controls a gearmotor (or 2 if needed) that moves a flat object weighing <13ounces.

- controllable bi-directional motors (speed/duration)

- ability to control via internet

 

Looking for some direction/recommendations on what boards/controllers/gearmotors/gear size I should start looking at.

  • For Internet Connectivity you can

     

     

    1. Use Ethernet Shields like WZ500 or ENC28J60 with Microcontroller OR you can use GSM modules to use GPRS like SIM900.

    2. For driving Motors from the microcontrollers you can use Motor drivers. Speed Can be controlled by using Voltage control or any other methods.
