I'd not heard of this before, but just saw an announcement today that NXP have a microcontroller with Cortex-M33 core. Apparently it's for IoT applications.
Diagrams from ARM website, I've highlighted in yellow the differences with Cortex-M23.
The NXP chip, series, LPC55S6X, has dual cores, lots of memory, plus the DSP and crypto, and a 16-bit ADC : ) and a 'programmable logic unit'.

At least two will be difficult to hand-solder!
