Creating my first Raspberry Pi 2 case

After I got my first Raspberry Pi 2, which was just 2 hours ago, the first thing that struck my mind was - "I need a cool looking case for this beauty". Since all beauties need elegant clothing, RPi 2 needs an elegant covering. Here are a few materials I am considering to build it (I want to built it myself):

1. Cardboard -

Pros - easy to cut and modify with simple scissors and light weight.

Cons- Fragile, no finesse, low on aesthetics

2. Frostglass -

Pros - High on finesse and aesthetics

Cons - Have to get it custom made, dunno from where.

Add more please.

Back when I was young, wood was probably the only option.
It seemed to do us very well.
(of course we didn't need it for this type of use)

The design you have shown looks very easy to make from lightweight plywood, and joinen together.
Simple handtools and some careful cutting should achieve a result.

Indeed before I had a 3D printer I used basewood and balsa wood, very easy to cut with a craft knife, glue sand and paint or cover with materials . I used to build and fly model aircraft many years ago, so used similar construction methods.
I have also used cardboard, print design on paper, glue paper to stiff cardboard, cut and glue. This can then be covered in a variety of materials, fabric, sticky back plastic, leather etc.
