Hi Don! Thank you, and thanks for the question. While volumes can be written comparing and contrasting all of the different technologies available for measuring gas flow, I'll try to give a reasonably…

Hello, Thanks for your reply. The problem has now been solved. There was an error in the catalogue which has now been corrected. The correct sensors are with me and ready for test in my project. Thanks…

    Hello Donna,

I'm trying to develop a measurment system for human respiration via using distance sensors on the abdomen and chest, to measurement changes in distance  as they expand for respiration.

My idea is to place a magnetic or piece of metal on the chest and/or abdomen, then place a sensor on the back of the patient. I have been looking at magnetic, capacitive, and eddy current based sensors. However, they seem to have a range upto around 55 mm, and also they may not be able to detect around the human body.

Is it not possible to use a magnetic, capacitive, or eddy current based sensor when there is a human body between the sensor and the sensing object?

Hi Santosh - we developed a 3D MEMS sensor that measures motion with a 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, and accelerometer - so it provides 9 channels of data. It has its own microprocessor, power source, and can communicate with any bluetooth or analog system. We needed it to develop an electronic personal trainer. Let me know if you're interested - I think it could help you out with your respiration measurement challenge.

How does it compare to the MPU9150?

What problems does it solve for the OP with respect to force measurement?
