Hi Don! Thank you, and thanks for the question. While volumes can be written comparing and contrasting all of the different technologies available for measuring gas flow, I'll try to give a reasonably…

Hello, Thanks for your reply. The problem has now been solved. There was an error in the catalogue which has now been corrected. The correct sensors are with me and ready for test in my project. Thanks…

Hi Donna: I'm interested in adding a sensor to our golf shirt that will allow us to measure via a smart phone what percentage the golfer is staying connected.( Arms and torso moving as one) Im in Northern California and I see this is the next step many athletic companies are going to i.e.: smart shirts, sensors to measure athletic performance and heart rates etc.

    Our website is:coreswinggolf.com

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Rick

    Hi Rick,

Depending on what you want to do you can either

    • Buy the sensors and do all the fusion yourself (a lot of work to get orientation out of the sensors first, and then you'll have to determine how that orientation applied to a body part changes the position of the player. Then you'll have to figure out what that says about how 'connected' someone is
    • Buy sensors that already output orientation. Either OEM sensors + microcontroller + code (Invensense, ST iNemo, Pololu IMU) or complete products (xsens, Yuei, ...) Then apply to body parts, determine position, determine connectivity
    • Buy Xsens Moven and get a stickfigure as output image

I am not computer sensor savy! Know of anyone in Northern Ca? I'm about one hour and a half from Silicon Valley.

    Thanks Rick

Hi Rick - we're developing an electronic personal trainer called 4Motion. It offers real-time, coach-like feedback on form and performance. Using multiple nodes it'll be able to do exactly what you're hoping to do for golfers.

When we first started designing the product, we were looking for sensors similar to what you're looking for but couldn't find them on the market... so we created our own.

www.enfluxmobile.com - we're updating our site but here's a sneak peek in case you're interested. Would be happy to chat further. Excited to hear what you end up doing.

I had a look at your web site but I couldn't see anything about sensors - only about the data logger. What technology do your sensors use ?

We currently have no sensors and are interested in imbedding them in our shirt. Coreswing 2.0. Nike has a new shirt that they have patented but, theirs is around the waist.

We would like to measure the torso turning with the arms as one piece as a percentage to see if the golfer is swinging properly and staying connected. You can call me to discuss.

If you're that eager you might also want to look at / talk to Xsens or Wimu (realtracksystems)

Hi Michael - We're currently updating our site and will launch the new one with information about our 4M sensors very soon. 4M uses MEMS technology. Here are the tech specs. What kind of project are you working on?

I'm not currently working on a sensor type project but I've designed accelerometers and microphones (amongst others) in the past so I'm always interested in what's going on. Are you really developing your own MEMS sensor or buying one in and packaging/conditioning it ?

We found three 3-axis MEMS sensors that were already out there and repackaged them into a plug and play system. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible to integrate 3D motion tracking and sensing into projects. Would love to hear more about your work!
