Cabe,
I'm going to wait for something that runs Autocad and OrCad. Check out the Motion Computing J3500. Expensive but powerful.

MAKeller,
That does look it might be useful. Do you feel like you would do a lot of heavy CAD or Circuit design on the go?
Retaining that option might be the best idea. Until the J3500 comes out, I don't see a lot of useful tablets out there. Or am I wrong?

i just saw a commercial for autodesk cad on android i forgot where it was but it might be coming soon, the only objections i got is that navigation is sometimes a little annoying and you cant always do everything that you wnat, im an ipad 1 user that we got from school as a pilot project and i hate this device to the fullest extent, its only functions are a good news reader, web browser but only for basic sites, and if it was a little more flexible you could use it as toilet paper.. i never used an android tablet so those could be a lot different, i think the biggest problem with all the apples stuff is that you have to pay for every usefull app and that they still dont satisfy my needs, i think a small laptop is the way to go, if you want it to be more mobile you could use a netbook and you wouldn't be as limited
so i downloaded the autcad app on my ipad as well as my galaxy phone and all it is is a viewer for documents and has a couple of simple options like editing text or deleting features so its not really that usefull plus on the ipad it keeps on running into errors because there is not enough operating memory
I tried that app for my Evo 4G. It's great to be able to access drawings on the phone. Often enough I am in the shop, on the floor, or discussing design with fellow engineers and need access to CAD files. My phone is almost like a tablet. 4.3" screen. Unfortunately, I have switched to doing everything with Solidworks.
Are you using the iPad 2?
Side note: I bought the above Archos 101 for engineering use. The tablet was quite slow, had poor viewing angles, and low memory. Not to mention, no access to the Android app market.

i have the first ipad so maybe thats why it doesnt have enough ram to run the more complicated drawings, i agree its a great tool to show a drawing to someone but if it comes to editing i would still stick to the good old laptop or a desktop
