Picture above is the Archos 101, a 10.1" Android based tablet "computer" I am considering buying. the purpose is to replace my clunky laptop with something new, modern, and more useful. I do my major development on my desktop computer, and the laptop, or perhaps this tablet, will take the roll of a mobile test or demonstration rig.
For example, I used my home desktop to develop a lighting project for an automobile. I would then use my laptop to just demonstrate the circuit in Multisim at the day job, and perhaps do a little circuit tweaking. I would also use the laptop with an external oscilloscope to take some measurements, save graphs, etc.
I can do the oscilloscope function easily on the tablet, . I can also perform many other operations . Of course, I can then access any website on the tablet for additional information. All of which makes me believe I can just use the tablet.
What are your opinions of the tablet vs laptop for engineering purposes? Do you already use one in that capacity?
