Sensor to detect movement

I need a sensor that can detect movement inside a 10 foot (3 meter) radius. Omni-directional would be best, like a sphere of detection, or half sphere.

I know there are motion sensors already, I am just looking for a cheap one that can do that kind of radius. Also, I want this motion detecting to work in all lighting conditions.

Thoughts?

I think that PIR sensor is the best option. Cheap, omnidirectional and works in all lighting conditions (until conditions change fast).
