Top 6 Tools

Not heard of blue tape before : ) but guessing it's similar to washi tape? I use it for marking up panels before drilling, and also labelling components... Pencil, and Edding 140 S pens write on it (and everything else! - they are permanently permanent.. don't know if they are available worldwide).

Can I list my top 10 tools? What if they're all part of the same tool? 

This is my can't-leave-home-without-it tool. This is the Leatherman Wave multi-tool. I have four in my 'fleet' and use it multiple times per day. I can use it for all sorts of intended and un-intended uses. Opening packages from E14, un-sticking zippers on my kids' coats, cutting coat hangers, stripping wire, cutting [small] tree branches when the chainsaw gets stuck (actually happened). I can use it with industrial terminal blocks and industrial power supplies. Every time I'm without it, i feel naked. I upgraded (through E14) to the expansion bit set for interchangeable bits on the screwdriver. I wear it on my belt daily. 

That looks so much more practical for engineers than a Swiss Army knife. With the SA knife it is almost guaranteed you'll accidentally cut yourself one time or another with the stiff blade they have, and need superhuman nails to pry out a tool without pain. Maybe it's just me though!

I think you might do yourself an injury just trying to fit it into your 'pocket'

Try closing the tools first. 

That is good point about having a "self-correcting" excess. I have observed the phenomenon without considering that it might be a natural law.

I tend to injure myself when trying to open the correct tool..

Cant name six or a dozen. I use too many tools, 5 or 6 are small pliers; needle nose, round, 90deg, 45deg most of them are EREM. My Metcal Solder Station, lots of small screwdrivers Torx, Philips, etc. my Dremel, and a whole lot more. Oh yes I can't leave home without my Tek 475A or my Fluke 113 DMM
