radar mechanism to monitor diy radar reflectors made on aluminum foils or tape or cd, any alternative to radar?

We have a study on implementing a ship's radar design and mechanism in the forest where on a bunch of trees there's a radar reflector and that radar reflector can be seen in the radar but a radar will cost much so we're trying to find a cheap way

can a software design radio be used? or not?

thank you.

Hi Raymond, Any reason you've raised four near-identical posts? Three with silly titles..

Yes, I have a suggestion, If you keep it to a single thread, people won't waste time repeating what someone else may have already discussed in one of your other threads. Basically, if you try to show some…

    > if you give it a better title, people won't waste their time clicking to open to see what it's about I very much agree. In general I don't even look at posts with titles like "asap" or similar. Having…

Radar does not need to be expensive. It looks like you can buy a radar module for less than $1 on the Internet.

What are you trying to detect, how far away is it and fast does it move?

Douglas Wong, it will not move.

the radar reflectors will not move because they will be attached on the top of the trees.

ahm maybe for now 50 meters or 25? it will be a prototype then we'll proceed if we'll win on the competition on much farther distance.

Radar reflector is the thing I want to detect, ahm a DIY radar reflector that they use on small ships or kayak, an aluminum foil or cd?

what will the Radar Module do?

    thank you.

Those cheap modules are just used for close range detection of objects.

If you want to recognize boats at a distance it will take a pretty fancy radar, emitting fairly high levels of radiation and extensive signal processing of the return signal. Investigate commercial boat radars to get some idea of what is involved in a unit that can see a kayak.

It might be possible to use sonar instead.

Looks like a longer-distance radar would be rather complicated to build...

    Nico teWinkel.

Good day Sir, I have reviewed the link you send.
It would be a cool idea to implement the design used on the video but I fear it would cost expensive for us, especially in our country here in the philippines where $1 is equals to 50php. so a $359 dollar design would cost around 16000php on our country and it would be very expensive for us but I appreciate the idea you gave on me.

anyway, im still searching for the past 2 weeks on what to do and what to use but I fear many questions are still coming in my mind when I search something but thank youuuu
