Hi Simon, I agree the price would not be expensive for a company actively engaged in building energy harvesting devices, but most of us here are just curious engineers and tinkerers. You might want to…

Simon You've convinced me, and I've ordered some parts that would suit this technology. Another project to add to the list for a rainy day ... at this rate Noah better have another Ark built. Mark

I totally agree with you DAB and that is why we have the challenge to support everyone with great interest and passion to cut the cord and bring wireless power charging a bit closer to all of us.

That is why we do this and that is why we all are here.

Mark, in regards to NZ prices you might contact Farnell directly. They can definitely help you on this one and maybe suggest some reasons to join the road test as well! ;D

For the Rx board feel free to check the following for specifications and pricing:

Do you have any links or sources I can have a look at the beer tap? As I am German, this would totally get my attention! ;D

Thanks guys for your honest feedback. I really appreciate it.

Thanks for your responses. Its great to see a supplier engaging in the community.

    The Rx is also USD$199

    Sorry I can't find anything.

From memory the company (Markit Graphics) was involved in graphics and developed early membrane switch's and EL lighting to compliment it.

They were trying to use the EL and illuminate a beer tap signage using the wireless power principles developed in NZ.... it may not have worked. (I worked with owner's son so got some inside info)

Thanks for the suggestion re Road Test. I have quite a few other things on my plate (that seem to be getting pushed sideways) so I really .... really shouldn't add another 'distraction' image

Found their homepage but no luck with the signage. But there seems to be quite some business with signs! hahaha

No problem, feel free to share/participate/comment any thoughts and knowledge on the group or during the challenge.

They were doing EL back in the early to mid 90's, and their website is not exactly show casing their best, but word of mouth is probably enough.

You've now got me thinking about uses for wireless charging and I have a couple of ideas, so who knows.

(If I did a beer tap I guess I'd be in ....image)
