Digital multimeters (DMMs) can measure multiple things. But they can do more than just what their dial suggests. For example, you can use diode mode to measure a MOSFET. Or you can use resistance mode to check if a DMM fuse is bad. These are seven tricks that James does with his DMM that go beyond voltage and current measurements.

Very good episode, thank you, James. Nice tips everyone should be shown at school :)

I was also a bit nervous that the "welcome back" has gone, but I have already seen newer episodes and relaxed.

    Good episode.

I went through Tech School with the analog meters.

It was a lot of years before I went digital.

Nice to know that even an old dog like me can learn new tricks.

There was a YouTube comment regarding my comment that the milliamp path measured 10 megaohms because of the slow-blow fuse.

I remember hearing a long time ago that a slow-blow has a higher resistance. But I must have remembered that wrong.

On other DMMs, I have always measured mega-ohms on milliamp terminals.

Did I misunderstand something I learned a long time ago? Are these measuring so high because that's the shunt resistance of that path?
