PORTABLE VACCINE BOX
(APPLICATION OF THERMOELECTRIC COOLING)
Introduction
Cheap Mobile Refrigerator for Vaccine means here we are tackling the most untouched action which should be take care but due to improper management in initial phase of vaccine distribution the negligence build up to the last leaf of branch i.e the last person living at the end /remote /village/areas in the cold chain
So the main idea is to develop a solution which bring down the negligence to a certain level.
The existing solution is not viable as it takes ice packs frequently to maintain the temperature of vaccine which increase the cost of overall maintaining temperature by increase wastage of ice packs with non linearity in maintaining the temperature as shown graphically by UNICEF blue box
As most of the near equator countries having a tropical advantage over other parts of the world but in case of lower temperature it is not the most suitable destination on earth as well. As most vaccine are preferred to preserve at lower temperatures before injecting to a person to preserve for long duration the medication overall just after manufacturing.
Solution
VACBAG-- PORTABLE VACCINE BOX which is used to maintain the required temperature for longer duration with vaccine inside at pre-cooled temperature
Overall design 1st Prototype
Open loop configuration
- Peltier device 3A(TEC)
- Heatsink for heat dissipation(outer)
- Fan to cool down heatsink due to pelter heating effect which attach to outer heat-sink
- Heatsink for cooling distribution (inside)
- Insulating box (for low rate of cooling loss after building to a required temperature)
- L298n Driver to drive TEC and Fan to control overall system temperature
- Fixed DC power supply 20V 3A(input to driver IC)
- Variable Buck convertor
1_Inside box to maintain cooling0-10*C
(current result is at room temp~18-20)
2_TEC_cold surface under cooled heatsink_1 -->Under TEC_ hot surface a big Heatsink
(with available temperature sensors 1-analog base,2_digital )
3_A FAN under hot heatsink to cool down to room temperature
(with available temperature sensors -analog base)
