Do the people who get first, second and third also get the finishing prize?

There is an inconsistency in the wording, on the front page (Upcycle It ) it says "all other finishers". But in the terms it says "All Challengers who submit a completed project will receive a tooling bundle".

I needed the heat gun a few days ago, fixing an child's iPhone screen. Ended up breaking it worse and going to the Apple store. It was like going to the circus. I'm not kidding, that store is a different world.

Official answer about the Finishers Prizes,

Finishers are defined as people who have finished the 10 blogs by the deadline but are not in 1st, 2nd, 3rd position.

This is because they already get the big prizes.

This was not very well laid out, thanks for pointing it out, we will include a reference to this from now on.

Surely they would also need to have completed the project?

You could conceivably end up with 10 blogs about next to nothing and a project that bears no resembalance to the proposal.

I wouldn't class that as a 'Finish'.

All Challengers who submit a completed project will receive a tooling bundle:

The 10 Blogs is an arbitrary finish line (for content at least), but being "finished" by the deadline will, of course, be taken heavily into consideration.

Sometimes its pretty subjective if a project is "finished";
we have had projects where the challenger has done a round up post and the project is very unfinished looking, other times the project is working, but not in a case or enclosure of some kind.

I understand your concerns, its not the best situation but it is resolvable.

The head honchos are knocking out a resolution for future design challenges, this time the "winners" will get the big prizes and not the finisher prizes.

As for finishers we will take it on a case by case basis for this DC and try to be as fair as possible to all involved.

Difficult position with winners and losers no matter which way it goes so weel done on passing this back.

I do agree the definition 'finished' is subjective, especially when it still looks very much like it's under construction.

I'm sure the TM group would be happy to spot any potential issues with the next T&C's.
